One of Mackey Andrews’ goals is to increase volunteerism. She would like to see more foster grandparents in the schools. We need to support and encourage young parents. Economic development should be more concerned  about young children and schools.
McCormick led the Collect and the Pledge of Allegiance. Gloria Burns read the secretary’s report. In the absence of the treasurer, there was no treasurer’s report. Donna Caruso reported on legislative matters. McCormick announced that the MEA-R  will fund a Community Caring Project again this year. McCormick spoke about the old records and suggested we store them at the historical society. Members agreed and she will see that the records are taken care of.
Under new business the secretary read the resignation from McCormick, effective immediately. Members accepted the resignation with regret. She will be in touch with Vice President Janice Ellis and hopefully Ellis will take over. The meeting was adjourned.
