Christmas Craft Fair features 50 theme baskets

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The St. Thomas Catholic Church Community Life Committee has been busy, carrying out the mission of Jesus’ words, “To love and care for one another.”

Over the summer a parish yard sale benefitted area food cupboards and now committee members are planning the Christmas Craft Fair for Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Route 23 in Dexter. Proceeds from the event will benefit fuel assistance in the area, the Our Lady’s Kitchen free meal offered every Sunday at St. Anne’s in Dexter and the fourth Monday free community meal held at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church and hosted by the Catholic ladies and the Foxcroft Academy National Honor Society.

Community Life Committee members have been working on theme baskets to be raffled and bid on through a silent auction at the Christmas Craft Fair. Businesses in both Dover-Foxcroft and Dexter have generously donated to the various themed baskets, with 50 baskets to be bid on and raffled Nov. 5.

The Christmas Craft Fair will also feature a craft table, books, baked goods, jewelry, Gramma’s attic with nice used items, plants, and raffles for a quilt, homemade toy chest and two matted picture frames. The day will also feature a light lunch.

The theme baskets were assembled by Jane Clinton, Dianne Jacobson, Lynn Lubas and Rheba Michaud. The Community Life Committee also includes Nancy Abrams and Jane Conroy.
