Area Democrats gather at Grange

SANGERVILLE — Over 60 local Democrats came together at the East Sangerville Grange on Sept. 10 for a traditional ham, bean and homemade pie supper in support of local candidates for office.

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES Local Democratic Senate and House candidates Carole Boothroyd and Dr. Richard Evans.

 

Dr. Richard Evans, candidate for Maine House District 120, and Carole Boothroyd, candidate for the Maine Senate District 4, addressed the enthusiastic crowd as did representatives of Emily Cain’s campaign for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District.

Former Sen. Charlie Pray of Millinocket emceed the event which included a tribute to two “grand old dames of the party,”Patsy Fortier and Carmen de Carlo. Dave Mallett entertained the assembled with three recent compositions.

Maine Attorney General Janet Mills closed the evening’s program by sharing her experience at the national convention and encouraged all present to be active in getting out the vote this November.
