Track and field results

The Dexter girls track team finished sixth of 10 teams at Brewer with a score of 26 points on April 21.

Leading the way for the Tigers were a pair of third-place finishes. Danielle Cummings placed third in the 200 at 29.07 seconds and coming in third in the racewalk was Serena Seekins with a time of 11 minutes, 36.58 seconds.

Katie Paquin finished fourth in the 200 at 29.37 seconds, and Lily Cummings, Rebecca Batron, Katie Batron and Danielle Cummings combined to place fourth in the 4×100 relay at 57.14 seconds.

Katilyn Paquin added a fourth-place performance in the discus with a throw of 72 feet, 9 inches, and she was also fifth in the shot put at 25-08.25.

In the boys’ meet, Dexter came in ninth of 11 teams with 19 points.

Brandon Allen placed second in the high jump at 5-08 and he finished third in the triple jump at 38-10.25. He anchored the fifth-place 4×100 relay squad, following Dillon Allen, Jason Campbell and Lucas Qualey for a time of 51.22 seconds.

Sean Lockhart added a point with the sixth-best discus throw of the meet at a distance of 118-05.

On April 23 Greenville traded to Bar Harbor with the girls finishing nine of 10 teams with one point and the Laker boys picking up 12 points to finish ninth of 11 schools.

Amy Carrier came in sixth in the 1,600 for the Greenville girls with a time of 16:08.13.

Noah Pratt picked up all dozen of his team’s scoring total. Pratt was the 3,200 runner-up at 11:20.55, and he finished fourth in the 1,600 at 5:18.14.

Foxcroft Academy hosted a meet on April 23. In the girls’ competition, Penquis came in fifth of nine teams with 19 points, followed by PCHS with 16 points and then the host school with a score of 14.

Kayla Harmon led the Patriots by placing second in the javelin with a throw of 80-10. Zoe Berry came in fourth in the shot at 24-08 and she was sixth in the javelin at 72-06.

Denali Smith added six points for her team by finishing third in the 100 hurdles at 22.50 seconds.

Haylee Patterson picked up all 16 PCHS points. Patterson was the meet winner in the shot at 27-03. She also placed third in the javelin at a distance of 80-06.

Renee Smith had the highest finish for Foxcroft with the third-best shot distance at 24-09.

Jennifer Clawson was fourth in the 800 at 2:51.00 and she came in fifth in the 1,600 at 6:07.10. Jordan Thomas placed fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:14.40.

The boys from Foxcroft finished the meet in third place with 126 points.

Hunter Smith had a trio of first-place finishes. He was the meet winner in the 200 at 24.80 seconds, the high jump at 5-10 and long jump with a distance of 18-10.50. The Pony 4×400 relay was also a victor, with a time of 3:55.30.

Zachary Caron had three second-place performances in the field events. He was second in the high jump at 5-08, long jump at 18-00.25 and he cleared the bar in the pole vault at 11 feet. Caron also came in fifth in the 200 at 26.00 seconds.

Cooper Nelson was second in the 800 at 2:08.80, as was Foxcroft’s 4×100 relay in a time of 49.60 seconds. Nelson added a third-place run in the 200 in 25.70 seconds.

Brandon Brock had the day’s second best throw in the shot, at 40-05.25. Brock also finished third in the discus and fifth in the javelin at respective distances of 101-25 and 125-02.

Paul Birtwistle finished third in the 400 at exactly 58 seconds and Gabe Piquette was third in the 800 at 2:19.80. Blaine Robinson came in fourth in the 200 at 25.90 seconds and fourth in the high jump was Hyatt Smith at 5-02. Cody Strout had a fifth-place shot throw at 36-00.75.

Penquis came in eighth in the boys’ meet with 10.50 points.

Josh Martin was the meet javelin runner-up at a distance of 135-00. He also came in fifth in the long jump at 17-05.50.

Dakota Knowlton tied for sixth in the 100 at 13.20 seconds.

Devin Ronco of PCHS scored his team’s six points. Ronco finished third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 23.20 seconds.
