Center Theatre celebrating 10th anniversary

DOVER-FOXCROFT — 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the Center Theatre’s reopening and according to Executive Director Patrick Myers there will be celebrations all year long. “We are planning different events and activities during the year to celebrate our anniversary,” he said. “The centerpiece will be a special 10th anniversary retrospective this summer. We’re bringing together current and past performers to present songs and scenes from our favorite theater productions from the past 10 years.”

As the Theatre’s founding executive director, Myers is especially pleased to be back in that role for this 10th anniversary year. “I couldn’t be happier to be back at the Theatre for this anniversary. When the Theatre had its grand reopening in August of 2006 there were some people who didn’t think we would be able to make it. Like anything worth doing it hasn’t been easy and sometimes it hasn’t been pretty, but we are still here and we’re going to celebrate!”

Myers also said that several musical performers from past years will also be coming back for concerts in 2016. “We haven’t publicized it yet, but Don Campbell will be performing a country Christmas Concert on Dec. 3 and while it isn’t confirmed we’re expecting to announce a favorite golden oldies band’s return to the stage this spring.”

With the anniversary programs along with a full schedule of great movies, community events and live programming Myers thinks 2016 is going to be a very busy year. “We’re hoping to see all our members and friends this year so we can say ‘thank you.’ We wouldn’t be here without the community’s support and we’re very grateful.”
