Moosehead Lake Chocolate Festival is coming

To the Editor;

The 12th annual Moosehead Lake Chocolate Festival is coming up on Sunday, Feb. 14th. One of the Moosehead Lake Chamber of Commerce’s biggest fundraisers, the Chocolate Festival brings folks from all over our region to sample chocolates of all kinds.

The Chocolate Festival Committee of the Moosehead Lake Chamber of Commerce is searching for folks to assist us by volunteering to become “Chocolate Chefs.” You could be a business, a bakery or a community member who makes an awesome cookie, fudge, whoopie pie, etc. and wants to show off their hidden talent in the area of chocolate.

The items don’t have to be all chocolate … think outside the box. Make a great chili that has chocolate in it? Got a recipe for chocolate zucchini cake? As long as there is chocolate in it somewhere we will take it!

We ask that each baker supply 100 pieces/servings of their chocolate specialty. That sounds like a lot but the pieces should be bite-sized, keeping in mind that this is a tasting. We can get 100 pieces out of three standard baking pans of brownies. That’s easy, right?!

Bakers are recognized at the festival and if the baker is a business or is sponsored by a business, business cards can be placed alongside the chocolates. Chocolate treats should be prepared and delivered to us on Saturday, Feb. 13th.

We think it is important for you to know that 100 percent of the proceeds from this festival go into the Moosehead Lake Chamber of Commerce’s marketing budget. This allows us to increase our marketing efforts and attract more tourists to Moosehead Lake area businesses!

For more information or to sign up as a baker please call Skye at the Chamber office, 695-2702 or Committee Chair Cheryl Bouley, 280-0638 (cell.)
