Rowell’s Garage General Manager Scott Moulton said the car wash should be open before the end of the year. “There is nothing like it north of Massachusetts,” he said.

A video clip of the ProTouch Tandem Friction In-Bay Car Wash, which is being displayed on the showroom television and is also posted on the business Facebook page, touts the high pressure, touch-free and friction cleaning methods of the car wash to provide a safe and superior clean for various makes and models of vehicles. Two overbridges and a pair of brushes provide a thorough cleaning while minimizing the amount of movement felt inside the vehicle passing through.

ROWELL’S GARAGE CAR WASH In the near future Rowell’s Garage in Dover-Foxcroft will be opening its state of the art PDQ Manufacturing ProTouch Tandem Friction In-Bay Car Wash on East Main Street (across the road from the showroom and service center). The car wash will have different types of exterior vehicle cleaning services available as well as wash access loyalty system (WALS) membership cards that can be reloaded on-line.

“Unless they have traveled far out of the area, they have never been through one like it,” Moulton said as new technology is being brought to the region.

“It’s going to start at $8 and go to $16,” Moulton said about car wash pricing, with the services costing $8, $10, $12 and $16.

The single-bay car wash will have services such as ProTouch wash, spot free rinse and flash dry for all passing through the single bay, as well as additional options such as underbody wash, wheel scrubbing, triple foam wax and OverGlow hot wax for basic, deluxe, super or “the works” packages.

“It will take credit, debit and cash,” he said, with change dispensed in quarters.

“We will be able to sell gift cards prior to Christmas, which is huge,” Moulton said about the potential stocking stuffers.

The Rowell’s Garage Car Wash will have a wash access loyalty system (WALS) with reloadable membership cards. “There will be a web-based program for that,” Moulton said. “It is designed so customers can go in and do their own refills.”

He said the card design is still being finalized, but will include the words “Rowell’s Garage Car Wash.”

“Right now it is 7 in the morning to 9 at night, seven days a week,” Moulton said about the hours of operation, which could be adjusted if need be once the car wash is up and running.

“We tried to make is as aesthetically pleasing to the neighborhood as possible,” Moulton said. He said an 8-foot fence, two feet higher than was required, was built on the edge of the far property by River Street.

“We did as much local as we could with the construction,” Moulton said. “Local people are the ones who are going to use it and we bought as much local product as we could.”

The hope is the Rowell’s Garage Car Wash will serve as draw to bring customers into the area, and while traveling to get their vehicles cleaned these drivers will patronize other businesses on the trip as well.

Moulton said the plan is to have a formal opening after the car wash is up and running.
