JSI’s Clayton Johndro Memorial

Golf Tournament raises $24,500 for Three Rivers Kiwanis

MILO — On Aug. 13, JSI held its 11th annual Clayton Johndro Memorial Golf Tournament at the Katahdin Country Club.

Following the tournament Terry Awalt, JSI’s president, CEO, and founder along with his brother Barry Awalt, JSI’s national sales manager, presented Eben DeWitt of the Three Rivers Kiwanis with a check for $24,500 — up from last year’s donated amount of $21,000. JSI has contributed $83,500 from the proceeds of this tournament to the Kiwanis over the last five years.  The JSI golf tournament is by far the largest fundraiser for the Three Rivers Kiwanis.

JSI’s 11th annual Clayton Johndro Memorial Golf Tournament at the Katahdin Country Club in Milo raised $24,500 for the Three Rivers Kiwanis, part of $83,500 raised for the club through the tourney over the last half decade.

Participants of the golf tournament came as far away as Indiana with participant ages varying between 17 and 76.  The sunshine was welcomed by all  the participants. The team sponsored by William London and Son won the A flight and the UPS sponsored team won the B flight, with everyone realizing that the real winners were the children of the Milo area.

Many thanks to Rick Gerrish for the use of the golf course, the Three River Kiwanis for providing a meeting place and food for the participants and the many JSI vendors that donated so generously.

This year’s donation will help to fund many children’s charities that the Three Rivers Kiwanis supports such as Hooked on Fishing, Secret Santa and reading programs.
