GREENVILLE — On the shores of Moosehead Lake, a new annual event will soon take place on the heels of last year’s very successful Moosehead Lake Yacht Club Centennial Boat Show.

On July 17-18, enjoy antique and wooden boats, canoes and kayaks, both on land and in the water, at Greenville’s East Cove by the gazebo across from the Moosehead Marine Museum parking lot.

In addition, there will be guided tours of the SS Katahdin on Friday afternoon from 5-7 p.m. including her engine room. The Katahdin is the oldest vessel built by Bath Iron Works still in daily service and operated by the Moosehead Marine Museum.

A scale model of the Katahdin, built by Peter Templeton of Greenville around 1975, will be raffled off at the end of the boat show.

Arrangements have been made with local restaurants — Flatlander’s, Graves’ Seafood, Stress Free Moose and Rod-N-Reel — for MLYC Boat Show happy hour/dinner specials on Friday, July 17.

On July 18, there will be a luncheon at Kelly’s Landing attended by show exhibitors and MLYC members arriving by boat, followed by a special tour of the Greenville Junction Depot.
