PCHS graduate named assistant superintendent
KENNEBUNK — Dr. Phil Potenziano, formerly of Sangerville and a 1986 graduate, has been appointed by the RSU 21 (Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel) school board as as-sistant superintendent of schools beginning July 1.
Dr. Potenziano has a Bachelor’s Degree from the Univer-sity of Maine-Farmington, a Masters from the University of New Mexico, a Certificate of Advanced Study from the Uni-versity of Southern Maine and a Doctorate in Educational Lead-ership from Boston College. His dissertation is entitled, “Op-portunity to Learn: The Role of Structures and Routines in Understanding and Addressing Educational Inequities”.
He has served as a director of special services for the past 14 years, most recently in RSU 14 (Windham/Raymond) and RSU 6 (Bonny Eagle). Prior to that, Dr. Potenziano worked as a teacher and educational consul-tant for eight years. Additional-ly, he worked as a staff assistant for Sen. George J. Mitchell and Martha S. Pope, U.S. Senate ser-geant at arms.
