Demand SAD 4 fiscal responsibility

To the Editor;

 This is addressed to the residents of Abbot, Cambridge, Guilford, Parkman, Sangerville and Wellington.

 You missed an opportunity to lower your taxes by not attending the school district budget meeting on May 28 and voting to control spending in MSAD 4.

 All towns have been paying 60 to 70 percent of their taxes toward the school budget. Yet only 57 people voted for or against various parts of a school budget totaling $7.27 million.

 You have a chance to vote this budget down at the polls in your town on Tuesday, June 9 and demand fiscal responsibility from your school, the state and even at the federal level.

 Our taxes have doubled, our town’s character is dying and it’s time for MSAD 4 voters to take charge.
