Track and Field results

    At Old Town High School on May 8 the Penquis Valley High School boys tallied 24 points to finish fourth in a field of six teams. Dylan LaLime came in third in the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 6 inches, and he was fourth in the long jump at 18-06.75.
   Josh Martin had the meet’s third-best throw in the javelin at 125-02 and he also ran the second leg of the third-place 4×100 meter relay. Clayton Preble, Martin, Michael Vachon and Ryan McIntosh combined for at time of 50.91 seconds.

   Also placing for Penquis was Ian Rockefeller, who came in fifth in the 110 hurdles at 24.53 seconds.
   The boys from Greenville High School placed sixth at Old Town with 12 points.
   Evan Sullivan finished second in the javelin with a throw of 131-10. Coming in fourth in the 300 hurdles was Dakota Collins with a time of 1:00.49.
   In the girls’ competition, Penquis tied the Bangor Christian School for fourth place out of six schools with 22 points each.
   Jordan Durant came in second in the triple jump at a distance of 29-08. She also anchored the fourth-place 4×100 relay. Jordan Prendergast, Mariah Tuscano, Zoe Berry and Durant ran the lap in 59.01 seconds.
   Berry placed third in the shot put with a throw of 25-03. Coming in fifth was both Denali Smith in the 100 hurdles, 20.94 seconds, and Candace Chase in the shot, 22-04.

   The Dexter Regional High School boys came in fourth out of five teams at Brewer, scoring 80 points on May 8.
   Zac Caron was the meet winner in the high jump as he cleared the bar at 5-08. Caron also came in third in the triple jump at 38-06 and fourth in the long jump at 17-05.50.
   The Tigers’ Brandon Allen was the high jump runner-up at 5-04 and he came in second in the long jump with a distance of 18-06.50. Allen added a fifth-place triple jump performance, 37-11.50.
   Valentin Nekrasov finished in the top four in the three sprints. He came in second in the 100 at 12.37 seconds, was third in the 400 at 54.41 seconds and placed fourth in the 200 at 25.98 seconds.
   In the discus Torin Smith and Joseph Hubbell came in third and fourth with respective throws of 89-10 and 89-07. Dillion Austin and Matthew Simpson placed third and fourth in the javelin at 112-01 and 109-02 respectively. Hubbell and Tanner Hall had fourth and fifth-place performances in the shot put at 36-07 and 35-08. Also placing was the Dexter 4×100 relay, which came in fifth with a time of 55.28 seconds.
   In the girls’ meet, Dexter came in fifth with eight points and Piscataquis Community High School was right behind in sixth place with six points.
   For the Tigers Autumn Nickerson placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 72-01. Kaitlyn Paquin placed fifth in the shot at 25-02 and also coming in fifth in the 4×100 relay was Dexter with a time of 1:03.11
   Paige Northup scored PCHS’ six points by placing third in the high jump at 4-06.
