Alex Speed of PCHS is one the girls named to the Girls C/D East team, which will be playing the Western Maine all-stars at 1 p.m. at Husson.
Joining Speed on the C/D East squad is Bre Skolfield of Central High School in Corinth — Skolfield played her junior year at Foxcroft Academy. Former Dover-Foxcroft resident Hannah Graham will represent Presque Isle High School on the Girls A/B East team.
Maine McDonald’s all-stars are selected by a statewide ballot of high school basketball coaches conducted by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches in January.
Both Abbey Jordan and Michaela White of Dexter were chosen for the girls All-State Academic Team, as two of the 10 female selections from across Maine in all four classes.
Academic honorees are nominated by their coaches and are then selected by a panel of leaders from the high school basketball community. The players have a GPA of 90 or above for seven consecutive semesters, have been a member of their varsity team for at least two complete seasons and were significant contributors in the 2014-15 season.
