Guilford Christian Academy events for homeschoolers

    GUIILFORD — The Guilford Christian Academy for Homeschoolers is offering workshops and activities for the community during the month of March.
    Guilford Christian Academy has been encouraging and strengthening homeschoolers in Maine for over a decade and has recently taken out a lease on office space to provide even more for the homeschoolers and local community.

    Classes and workshops are on sewing, knitting, crocheting, American Sign Language, and much more.

    Guilford Christian Academy for Homeschoolers wants to network with the community to provide opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge.
    Start off will be the “Let’s Knit Socks Workshop.” Trisha will show participants how to make socks over the course of four weeks.
    There are two patterns to choose from ranging from beginner to intermediate. Young and old are invited to attend — participants do not have to be a homeschooler to join.
    The workshop starts Wednesday, March 4 from 1-3 p.m. Participants purchase preferred fiber yarn and needles, and sign up online.
    Other activities include roller skating at the Dexter Rec. Dept every fourth Monday of the month from 1-4 p.m. Skates are available at no additional cost.
    Game Day is on the second Friday of the month. Students bring their favorite game and a snack to share and team up with others to play games from 1-3 p.m.
    Mom’s Fellowship is the third Friday of the month from 1-3 p.m. Bring a favorite hand craft and a snack to share — coffee will be available.
    Join other local moms to get together and knit, crochet, cross stitch or mend, etc. Anything to bring to work on chit chating is fine, or bring nothing. All invited to attend.
    If you have little ones that will need to be tended to, there is a room available for use and they will see if they can get a person to tend to them; just let them know.
