Androscoggin Bank announces contribution to help launch TCTC welding program
DEXTER — Androscoggin Bank is proud to announce its immediate support for the Tri-County Technical Center’s welding program with a $1,000 contribution.
Since 1968, the TCTC has been dedicated to fulfilling the career and technical education needs of secondary school students in the region. Today, the center offers a diverse array of CTE programs, including automotive mechanics, culinary arts, nursing, and commercial truck driving, catering to students from Dexter Regional High School, Foxcroft Academy, Nokomis Regional High School, Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford, Penquis Valley High School in Milo, and Greenville High School.
Androscoggin Bank learned of the need for help with this new program through RSU 19 Superintendent Mike Hammer, who is a strong advocate for this initiative. Understanding the pressing need for market-relevant skill development in rural areas like Piscataquis County, Androscoggin Bank recognizes the significance of investing in the future workforce.

“As a former town manager and a native of Piscataquis County, I understand the importance of providing students with access to quality CTE opportunities,” stated John Simko, Androscoggin Bank’s director of government banking. “This collaborative approach to best serve the future workers of this rural region is in line with our mission, vision, and values and our commitment to communities as a B Corp.”
While acknowledging the value of this endeavor, the bank hopes that its modest initial contribution will aid in supporting the program’s inception. Androscoggin Bank remains committed to exploring further opportunities to collaborate with TCTC and other educational institutions in the region.
