Three area athletes place at Class B indoor track championship
LEWISTON — Three athletes between Foxcroft Academy and Piscataquis Community High School scored points at the 2024 Class B indoor track and field state championship at Bates College on Monday, Feb. 19.
The Pony boys scored five points to finish in a four-way tie for 21st place among 31 schools with athletes placing, joining Gray New Gloucester High School, Hermon High School, and Old Town High School with five points apiece.

Foxcroft senior Jack Kingsbury placed fifth in the high jump on jumps as he cleared a height of 5 feet, 8 inches.
Sophomore Conner Donahue had a point with his eighth-place performance in the long jump. Donahue landed a distance measuring 19-09.75.
The two Ponies each competed in two other events. Donahue was ninth in the 200 at 24.23 seconds and 15th in the 55-meter prelims at 7.02 seconds.
Kingsbury came in 16th in the long jump at 17-11.50, and he finished 17th in the 55-meter hurdle prelims in 9.46 seconds.
In the girls’ meet, PCHS sophomore Ava Goulette had a fourth-place throw in the shot put at a distance measuring 32-02.75.
Goulette accounted for all five Pirate points as PCHS finished 23rd among 30 schools picking up points at the state meet.
Pirate sophomore Jazmin Channon ran in the 55-meter prelims and she was 12th in 7.88 seconds.
