Annual Kris Kringle Market at Monson gym on Dec. 6

MONSON — The 30th annual Kris Kringle’s Market will take place at the Monson gym on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with lunch served at 11 a.m. The menu will be soups, a variety of sandwiches and dessert.

Crafters will be selling jewelry, fabric items, folk art, wreaths, wooden items, ornaments, homemade food and more.
All entries for the annual gingerbread house contest must be at the gym by 10 a.m. Ribbons will be awarded to the top three creative and well-crafted entries.
A holiday village will be created with the entries and with “Christmas in Monson” as the suggested theme for this year’s competition.
There will be something new at the fair this year: the Christmas Tree Challenge.
The trees in the challenge must be made from recyclable/reusable materials, such as cardboard, plastics, paper, old car parts, aluminum cans, pipes, scrap metal, glass, egg cartons or anything else to construct a 5 to 6-foot tree.
The trees should be delivered to the Monson gym on the day of Kris Kringle’s Market between 8-9 a.m. to be placed in front of the gym, where they will remain on display until 3 p.m that day.
The public will be able to cast their votes for the most creative trees by placing a $1 donation in a container in front of each tree. All donations will go to the Kris Kringle’s Market fund to purchase winter clothing for local children in need.
The Kris Kringle’s Market Committee will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Door prizes will be awarded hourly.
Santa arrives at 1 p.m. to listen to the wishes of each youngster and those young at heart.
