‘Heart Healing, Life Changing Dog’ giveaway

“Behind the rock walls in Sebec we have been working on an amazing project,” says

Joi Stevens of Rockwall Doodles. Stevens is a well known and respected Goldendoodle breeder and has collaborated with a remarkable local dog trainer Missy Pitcher of Evolution K9 and the talented Kristen Cooney of M & S Doodle Grooming in St Albans.

This creative crew will be accepting applications on a “Heart Healing, Life Changing Dog” giveaway.

Applicants must live in Piscataquis County or have strong ties to the area.

Stevens explains, “The role of this yet to be born, medium Goldendoodle puppy is still to be determined.” All interested parties  will be asked to be patient and look at the future as timing of placement in 2024.

“We believe that planning is crucial for the success of the endeavor,” Stevens explained. “Missy, Kristen, and I are seeking to find with whom and where this special pup can fulfill its Heart Healing mission. Our vision is that this will be a pup that will be donated and raised by me, on an advanced service dog curriculum. Although this is not a service dog trained to do specific tasks, the method of raising this pup will lay an amazing foundation that Missy will be adding her complimentary training upon. This Heart Healing pup will go on to enrich the lives of many!”

Conney will be working with this pup in its early weeks of life to help the puppy become accustomed to grooming and handling. She will also be offering free grooming for this pup’s first year of life.

Pitcher and Stevens will also be providing follow up support and training after the dog’s “work life” begins.

Three business owners are encouraging each other and working together all for the love of dogs. Stevens remarked,  “It is very fulfilling to collaborate with other business women that are wanting to give back to the community in such a life changing way.”

The hope/plan is to raise a facility type dog that will interact with people in a location that is still unknown. This could be a business, medical facility, school, nursing home, dental office, an individual, or a number of other places/possibilities.

Those interested can take the first step of the two step process and access the detailed application online at https://rockwalldoodles.com/heart-healing-dog-application/.

Step two is providing a video to tell the application committee your story and how this pup will enrich your life, business or those that the puppy/dog will be in contact with.

“Get creative and really tell us why this Heart Healing, Life Changing Dog should be yours,” encourages Stevens

Applications will be accepted until July 1. Those interested are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
