    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Piscataquis County Retired Educators held a very successful basket raffle at Homecoming on Aug. 2 — Betty LaPointe was the lucky winner. Money raised benefits the Esther Pennington Scholarship for students from Foxcroft Academy, Greenville High School, Penquis Valley High School and Piscataquis Community High School every fourth year. A student from Penquis was awarded the scholarship for 2014.

    Members of retired educators bring items for the basket which will now become an annual event. Members manning the booth and working the crowd were Gil and Jan Reynolds, Dexter; Jane Lander, Guilford; and Rheba Michaud, Donna Caruso, Janice Ellis and Minnie McCormick, Dover-Foxcroft.
    We wish to thank all who purchased tickets. We look forward to another raffle at Homecoming 2015.
