Retired educators meet

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County Retired Educators met July 22 at the Bear’s Den with 21 members and guests. Dyan McCarthy-Clark, Piscataquis County Teacher of the Year, was the guest speaker.

    Members brought items for the basket raffle that will take place at Homecoming. This is the third year this has been done to raise money for the Esther Pennington Scholarship which was awarded to a Penquis Valley High School student this year.
    The basket has been a popular item. It includes two bottles of wine, nuts, Hershey kisses, pickles, placemats, paper products, crackers, cheese dip., maple syrup, chutney, a child’s hand knit sweater and many other items. The Piscataquis County Retired Educators hope many alumni will stop by and purchase tickets to help the scholarship.
