High school track and field results

    The Dexter Regional High School team traveled to Bangor on May 12 for a meet, rescheduled from May 10. The Tiger boys were sixth of six schools with a score of 24.5 points.
    Seth Blais was the runner-up in the 400, as he ran the race in 55.66 seconds. Blais also opened the Tiger 4×400 relay as he, Brandon Allen, Zach Caron and William Strauch combined for a time of 4:01.39.

    Caron came in fourth in the triple jump at a distance of 36 feet, 6.25 inches. Caron placed fifth in the high jump at 5-06 and he was sixth in the long jump at 18-01.
    Coming in fourth and fifth in the racewalk for Dexter was Sean Lockart and McKynzie Allen-King with respective times of 13:23.27 and 15:41.63.
    Placing sixth for the Tigers were Kyle Lockart and Conrad Tarr, in the shot put at 37-04.75 and in the high jump at 5-04.
    The Dexter girls were also sixth at the Bangor meet, tallying 24 points. The highest finish came in the 4×400 relay as Katie Batron, Meredith Roderka, Shana Fogg and Kirsten Swimm ran the event in 4:54.89.
    Fogg finished fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:08.67, and fourth in the 1,600 was Roderka at 2:45.67. Grace Belanger placed fourth in the racewalk at 12:25.42 and fifth in the event was Serena Seekins in 12:51.86.
    Also scoring points for Dexter was Batron, fifth in the 100 and sixth in the 200 at 14.01 and 29.82 seconds; and Lacy Morrill, sixth in the discus at 63-03.
    During a May 16 meet at Old Town the boys from Greenville High School picked up 32 points to finish fifth in a field of eight teams.
    Evan Sullivan was the meet runner-up in the javelin with a throw of 128-00. Sullivan was also fourth in the discus at 99-01 and he anchored the fourth-place 4×100 relay. Chris Miller, Alex Chapman, Charlie Warman and Sullivan had a time of 51.82 seconds.
    Matt DiAngelo placed fourth in both the 100 and 200 with times of 12.29 seconds and 25.39 seconds. He also was fifth in the long jump at 16-08.75.
    Other Laker point-scorers were Howie Stone, fourth in the high jump at 5-02, and Miller, fifth in the 110 hurdles at 21.74 seconds.
    The Penquis Valley High School boys came in sixth at Old Town with 19 points.
    Cevonte Johnson had the team’s highest finish as he came in third in the long jump at 18-06. Johnson was also fifth in the 100 with a time of 12.49 seconds.
    Thomas Diaz came in fourth in the 400 at 57.09 seconds, and fourth in the shot put was Devon Strout at 33-07.50. Strout was also fifth in the discus at 97-01, and placing fifth in the javelin was Joshua Martin at 113-00.
    In the girls’ meet, Penquis tallied 38 points to place fourth out of eight teams.
    Jessica Preble had the second-fastest time in the 400 at 1:11.59. She anchored the second-place 4×100 team as Jordan Durant, Zoe Berry, Courtney Bowers and Preble combined for a time of 55.67 seconds. Preble was also third in the long jump at 14-08.75.
    Durant came in third in the triple jump at 30-03, and Berry was third in the javelin with a throw of 83-09. Bowers finished fourth in the high jump at 4-04.
    In sixth place at the meet was Piscataquis Community High School as the Pirate girls tallied a score of 23 points.
    Mariah Pettit came in third in both the 100 and 200 with respective times of 14.11 and 29.67 seconds. She was the fourth runner on the 4×100 relay as Tiia Kand, Michaela Pratt, Kaitlyn Easler and Pettit came in fourth at exactly 58 seconds.
    Easler was fifth in the 100 at 14.46 seconds and sixth in the 200 at 30.37 seconds, and Kand came in fifth in the 100 hurdles at 21.61 seconds. Haylee Patterson added a fifth-place performance in the javelin at 80-09.
    The Greenville girls came in eighth with two points. Erin Welsh finished sixth in the javelin at 77-04, and sixth in the 100 hurdles was Anne Kronholm with a time of 21.74 seconds.
