Hillenbrand to join Dove Tail Bats for ‘The Business of Baseball’

    BANGOR — Former Boston Red Sox player Shea Hillenbrand will join Dove Tail Bats owner Paul Lancisi on Thursday, April  17 at the Cross Insurance Center as Mobilize Eastern Maine presents “The Business of Baseball”. Beginning at 9 a.m., the free event highlights the international success Lancisi has found producing wooden bats for the baseball industry and Hillenbrand’s experience with the business side of America’s favorite past time. Registration is recommended by email to clewis@emdc.org.

    Hillenbrand will also host a baseball clinic at Greenville Consolidated School on Monday, April 21 followed by an reception open to the public at Designed Living in Shirley from 4-7 p.m.
    Other local appearances scheduled by Hillenbrand during his Maine visit are a clinic at Dexter Regional High School on Tuesday, April 22 from 1-3 p.m. and a clinic at Foxcroft Academy on Friday, April 25 from 12-2 p.m.
    Hillenbrand, who is also a motivational speaker, will participate in the Easter Sunday services at Charleston Pentecostal Church on April 29 and speak at the Church of the Open Bible in Greenville on April 27.
    Dove Tail Bats is based in Shirley and produces high quality, wooden baseball bats for all levels of players, from Little League to the majors. The company is the exclusive maker of wooden bats for the Senior League World Series, which is held in Bangor each summer.
    Hillenbrand played for the Red Sox from 2001 to 2003 earning a spot as the starting third baseman for the 2002 All-Star Game. He currently lives in Arizona and operate the non-profit organization, Against All Odds.
