Hospice variety show to celebrate 20th anniversary on April 25

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The 2014 Pine Tree Hospice Variety Show, taking place on Friday, April 25 at 7 p.m. at the Center Theatre, will be the 20th anniversary of the popular annual celebration. As always, the evening will be filled with talented local performers who donate their skills in support of Pine Tree Hospice.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, Jane Stitham, executive director of Pine Tree Hospice, states that the show will be looking to past shows and looking to the medical community for performers. “Originally, the Variety Show was performed entirely by members of the medical community and their families to benefit Pine Tree Hospice. Over the years, the show has expanded to feature talented individuals from around the community. But to celebrate our 20th, we wanted to bring back some of the platinum acts from years past and new favorites as well. We’re especially looking forward to some of the acts from the staff of Mayo Regional Hospital who are major supporters of both Hospice and the Variety Show.”
Returning to MC the show this year is local favorite Dr. David Frasz, and Stitham says there will be other favorites announced as the show gets closer. Stitham also says that they are still looking for new performers from the medical community and she encourages anyone who is interested to contact Hospice at 564-4346.
The mission of Pine Tree Hospice is to honor life and offer comfort with dignity to people of any age living with a progressive life-limiting illness.
