Join the PCSWCD for a snowshoe event at the Law Farm

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District (PCSWCD) is excited to kick off the third annual Families in the Outdoors program. The goal of this program is to provide fun, active and interesting opportunities for families to enjoy the outdoors, together. This program is designed for youth ages 5-plus, parents, grandparents and other relatives. We had so much at last year’s snowshoe adventure, we decided to bring it back for 2020.

The first session in this program series is our Snowshoe Adventure at the Law Farm from 12:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21. There is a snow day for this event, Saturday, Feb. 22 with the same time and location. Registration is required and open for this fun outdoor program.

At this program, families will enjoy a half day snowshoe with the PCSWCD, Master Maine Guide Alexandra Conover Bennett and Maine Wildlife Biologist Sarah Spencer. Bennett will lead us through the Law Farm trails and Spencer will lead a hands-on exploration of wood ducks and installing and maintaining wood duck boxes. There will be lots to see, learn and do on this snowshoeing adventure

The PCSWCD looks forward to seeing you out at the Law Farm for this fantastic family-oriented event. Be sure to keep an eye open for our next Families in the Outdoors session: Camp Out at the Law Farm happening Aug. 7-8.

Spaces are limited for Families in the Outdoors and you must pre-register to join us. There is a small fee per person, which helps support our educational offerings. To register, please visit our website at piscataquisswcd.org, our Facebook page at facebook.com/www.piscataquisswcd.org, give us a call at 207-564-2321 ext. 3 or send along an email to info@piscataquisswcd.org.
