Community gets a taste of Peace, Love & Waffles  

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Peace, Love & Waffles, a new restaurant serving breakfast and lunch in the old bank building on East Main Street, was formally welcomed to the region with a Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 9.

Chamber Executive Director Denise Buzzelli thanked those filling the eatery space — that for much of its history was known as Pasttime’s Pub — during the late afternoon grand opening. “Anytime we have a new business we like to do a ribbon cutting and grand opening,” she said.

“These folks came all the way from Colorado,” she said about Peace, Love & Waffle owners Erin Riley and Doug Campbell. Buzzelli said she recalled Riley saying the couple wanted to find a place with a strong sense of community and they quickly knew they found just the right location in Dover-Foxcroft and Piscataquis County.

“The food’s delicious, the service is great and the prices are great,” Buzzeli said about the Peace, Love & Waffles niche waffle offerings for breakfast and brunch.

“We just all want to say welcome and are so happy you chose here to have your business,” she said. Buzzelli said Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce member establishments work together rather competing against one another.

“We were looking for something with a little more community and involvement and we found it,” said Peace, Love & Waffles General Manager and owners’ son Michael Begley.
