Dover-Foxcroft women’s club news

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs/Miosac Club met at Thayer Parkway October 15 with 12 members attending. President Suzanne Raymond called the meeting to order and Dot Tonick led the Club Collect, American’s Creed and Pledge of Allegiance.

Recording Secretary Diane Leighton took roll call and read the minutes of the last meeting. Corresponding Secretary Roxy McGlauflin read a thank you from Priscilla Higgins for the community dinner the club served. Under old business, it was decided not to have a high school art contest due to lack of schools participating. The artwork will be picked up and taken to the district meeting.

A report on Trivia NIght noted that Pine Tree Hospice was happy with the results. Members provided snacks for the occasion.

Wendy Hutchins volunteered to be in charge of the SeDoMoCha Builders Club Christmas Tree. Members will help with trimming the tree. The Christmas elves will be shopping December 4. It was voted to bring an ornament to the Christmas party costing no more than $10 for a yankee swap.

Program Chairman Rheba Michaud gave a very interesting report of her trip to Australia this summer. Members enjoyed the report.

The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served by Barb Austin, Tonick and Michaud.

The next meeting will be November 5 with Austin as program chairman and hostess and co-hostesses Hutchins and Betsey Ryan.
