Thank you fire departments

To the Editor;
Dear members of the Milo, Bowerbank and Sebec fire departments, we the members of the Three Rivers Kiwanis are sending this letter as a thank you and a well-earned pat on the back for the super job rescuing a racer in our annual Sebec River Canoe Race on May 18.

Our communities are blessed to have such a group of dedicated public servants and local heroes willing to serve in times of need and in events such as this one. Thanks to your heroic efforts and super fast action the individual who found himself trapped in the ice cold spring waters of the Sebec River will survive to tell the tale.

Too often first responder organizations like your departments are taken for granted, go somewhat unnoticed and are largely unappreciated. It is with great pleasure that, on behalf of the Three Rivers Kiwanis of Milo/Brownville, I write this letter to thank you for your service and to let you know that you are indeed appreciated in this community.

Ken Jay
Three Rivers Kiwanis
of Milo/Brownville president
