Whitney honored with Dexter’s Spirit of America Award

DEXTER’S SPIRIT OF AMERICA HONOREE — Rick Whitney, second from right, is this year’s Spirit of America Award recipient for Dexter. The honor is presented in the name of Maine municipalities to local individuals, organizations and projects for commendable community service and among Whitney’s numerous accolades are many years serving as the Dexter Regional High School Key Club adviser, being a long-time member of the Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis and Dexter Historical Society, serving as the curator and operator of the Grist Mill Campus Museum for three and a half decades.
