A hopeful solution to the climate change emergency

To the Editor;
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that atmospheric levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases have reached record highs. The consequences of global warming, including extreme weather events, rising sea levels, ocean acidification and habitat loss, can no longer be ignored. While the extent of this global emergency is daunting, there is a ray of hope in HR 763, The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. This nonpartisan solution is estimated to reduce America’s carbon pollution by at least 40 percent within 12 years, while returning a carbon dividend to all Americans monthly. HR 763 is supported by economists and scientists as a comprehensive and effective solution to climate change. Find more details at energyinnovationact.org and urge your elected representatives to get on board.
