DOW REUNION

The 100th family reunion of the descendents of Lyford and Eunice (Parsons) Dow was held Saturday, Aug. 17 at the home of Ruth and Zachary Dow in Dover-Foxcroft. There were 68 in attendance. The youngest member attending was Aiden Ashton, 18 months old, the son of Danielle and Don Ashton, grandson of Dennis and Debbie (Dow) Dyer and great-grandson of Lewis and Leona Dow.

The oldest member in attendance was Helen Dow Thomas, 99 years young, of Naugatuck, Conn. The member traveling the farthest was Shirley Dow Manzo, daughter of Lewis and Leona Dow, coming from Maricopa, Ariz. A wagon ride down to the bank of the Piscataquis River to see the foundation of the first Dow homestead was a highlight of the afternoon. Next year’s reunion will be held at the home of Lewis and Ginger Dow on Aug. 23, 2014.
