Pine Tree Hospice hosts evening adult bereavement group twice a month

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Have you lost a loved one recently or in the past? Grief is a normal reaction to the death of someone important to you. It can be both powerful and painful – physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. However, when we pay attention to our grief and have support from others, experiencing grief can lead to healing and growth.

Not only do we all experience grief differently, but we also process grief in our own unique ways. While some people’s loneliness or sadness may appear to be more pronounced, others may keep their thoughts and feelings of grief to themselves. Throughout the healing process, grief’s manifestations may vary in amount and intensity.

To support those who are grieving, Pine Tree Hospice holds an adult evening bereavement support group on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in Dover-Foxcroft. Many people seek and find comfort by sharing their feelings of pain, emotions and thoughts in a group setting. Others may never say a word but because the participants in the group have the shared experience of the death of a loved one, they are able to show understanding and empathy to one another.

Our facilitated group is for anyone who is experiencing grief due to a death, whether or not they have utilized Pine Tree Hospice’s services. Please call 564-4346 or email wecare@pinetreehospice.org for more information and to schedule a visit or register for this group.
