Dexter Regional High School announces Class of 2018 valedictorian and co-salutatorians

DEXTER — Dexter Regional High School Principal Stephen Bell is honored to announce the valedictorian for the Class of 2018, Kaitlyn Webber and co-salutatorians, Rebecca Batron and Olivia Webber.

Kaitlyn Webber is the daughter of Kevin and Nicci Webber of Garland. Kaitlyn is planning to attend the University of Maine Orono, majoring in biomedical engineering. While in high school, Kaitlyn has been involved in field hockey, basketball, softball, Black Bear Elite Field Hockey Club Team, Key Club, Global Discussions, National Honor Society, band, and student government. Kaitlyn was also granted an internship through the MERIT’s Maine Space Grant Consortium program last summer at the University of Maine involving a project on sleep deprivation leading to cognitive decline in the aging population. Kaitlyn currently serves as Student Council president.

Rebecca Batron is the daughter of Kenneth and Jennifer Batron of Exeter. Rebecca is planning to attend the University of Maine Orono, majoring in ecology and environmental sciences. While in high school Rebecca has been involved in band, field hockey, basketball, track, Key Club, student government and National Honor Society. Rebecca currently serves as Student Council vice president.

Olivia Webber is the daughter of Scott and Amy Webber of Dexter. Olivia is planning to attend Husson University in Bangor, majoring in nursing with plans to go on to obtain her Masters as a nurse practitioner. While in high school, Olivia has been involved in field hockey, softball, student government, Key Club, and National Honor Society, Seeds of Peace, and Dirigo Girls’ State. Olivia currently serves as Student Council secretary.

The administration, faculty and staff would like to congratulate these three exceptional students on all of their hard work and accomplishments.
