PISCATAQUIS UBM CANCER RIDE

For the fourth year in a row members of the Piscataquis County UBM conducted a cancer ride to benefit several area children coping with cancer.

The procession left A.E. Robinson and traveled to Millinocket, retuning via Howland and a stop at the sidecar museum. The ride included 39 motorcycles and a total of $1,650 was raised (for a $550 contribution for each family).

GET YOUR MOTORS RUNNING — Participants in the Piscataquis County United Bikers of Maine’s (UBM) fourth annual Cancer Ride get ready to depart from the A.E. Robinson on West Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft shortly after 10 a.m. on July 13. The ride, which benefits area children with cancer, is one of a number of fund-raising events held by the Piscataquis County UBM throughout the year.

AND THEY’RE OFF — With traffic safely stopped, motorcyclists turn onto West Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft for the start of the Piscataquis County UBM’s fourth annual Cancer Ride on July 13. Stanley Farrar led the group to Millinocket and back to Dover-Foxcroft via Howland, with all participants observing safety measures such as alerting fellow travelers to potholes in the road.
