Alcohol on and off premises training Jan. 24
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Public Health Council, the region’s Healthy Maine Partnership, will be hosting an on premise (server) and an off premises (seller) alcohol training on Thursday, Jan. 24.
The seller training will be from 8 a.m. to noon. and the server training will take place 12:30 to 4::30 p.m. Both classes will take place in the Borestone Room at the Resource Center at Mayo Regional Hospital. There is no cost to participate. This training is for alcohol retailers and their employees who sell liquor.
The program will cover how to identify minors and visibly intoxicated person, safe intervention strategies to prevent a visibly intoxicated person from driving, how alcohol is ingested and metabolized by the body, what alcoholism is and how alcohol affects the body, false identification detection and good carding policy, the importance of good written alcohol policies and the Liquor Liability Act.

This training is paid for by the Piscataquis Public Health Council and is offered free to benefit and help protect the community.
