Corinna man charged with OUI following crash in D-F

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19 the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department along with the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene of a rollover crash that occurred on the Bangor Road just north of the South Dover Cemetery. Officers arrived and found there was a crash that had struck a parked vehicle which careened into the front porch of a home at 1282 Bangor Road in Dover-Foxcroft.

Wiley Roberts, 24, of Corinna, was the operator of the 2004 Jeep Wrangler which struck a 2015 Dodge van parked in the Bangor Road driveway. Roberts was eventually charged with OUI, as his blood alcohol was 1.5 times the legal limit.

The crash occurred as a result of Roberts failing to negotiate a curve. The Jeep Wrangler struck two curve signs, a telephone pole, and then the parked van. The van was pushed into the home by the force of the crash. Both the van and the home were damaged extensively. The Jeep did roll over as a result of the accident.

A male passenger from the Jeep was transported by Mayo Ambulance with minor injuries. The subject was eventually released a short time later from Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft.

Roberts was taken to the Piscataquis County Jail on $200 cash bail. Speed and alcohol were both factors in the crash. More charges will follow.

Wiley Roberts, 24, failed to negotiate a curve and the Jeep Wrangler he was driving struck two curve signs, a telephone pole, and then a parked van (pictured) that was pushed into a home to cause extensive damage to the vehicle and dwelling. A male passenger was transported to Mayo Regional Hospital with minor injuries and later released from the hospital. Roberts was taken to the Piscataquis County Jail, as his blood alcohol was 1.5 times the legal limit. Speed and alcohol were both factors in the crash, and more charges are expected.
