Ridge View Community School garden club announces a spring open house on June 1

DEXTER — The Ridge View Community School (RVCS) garden club invites the public to attend a garden open house on Saturday, June 1 at the RVCS garden from 10 a.m. to noon.
All are welcome at this free family friendly morning in the garden with tours, demonstrations, worm bin exploration, games and refreshments. Join members of the student garden club for a tour of the school garden, compost bin and rain water collection system. Students will also demonstrate how to grow potatoes in a bucket and share seed potatoes with visitors to grow at home.

The middle school garden club meets weekly during the spring and fall and is responsible for planning, planting and tending the school garden. Produce from the garden is shared among garden club members, used in classroom taste tests and donated to the cafeteria. Come check out what the garden club members have been up to this spring.
