We need more answers from Golden

To the Editor;

I have finished reading Maine Rep. Jared Golden’s OpEd in the Bangor Daily News/Piscataquis Observer titled “Donald Trump is going to win the election and democracy will be just fine,” and as his longtime constituent, I have some concerns.

It is no secret that the display we witnessed during the first presidential debate was concerning. Joe Biden did not look like a commander in chief. The world is on fire and across the globe our enemies are emboldened by weakness, and they are watching Biden’s apparent inability to lead our country. It’s clear Biden is not up to the task and suddenly, the right questions were being asked: What did Democrats know? When did they know it? 

Golden has stood by Biden, fought for many of his liberal policies and stood largely silently for years as the president declined. Even in his writings, Golden does nothing to address the concerns of Biden’s mental health. Saying former President Donald Trump will win a second term is not enough. We need more answers from Golden, and we need them now.
