Camden National Bank now accepting 2024 Leaders & Luminaries nominations to honor outstanding nonprofit board members
CAMDEN – Camden National Bank announced that nominations are open for the 2024 Leaders & Luminaries Awards. The annual awards honor four outstanding nonprofit board members who go above and beyond to dedicate themselves to strategic leadership and advancing their organizations, with a total of $20,000 in grants available.
“As a community bank, supporting local nonprofits and their leaders is central to our core values,” said Renée Smyth, executive vice president and chief experience & marketing officer at Camden National Bank. “It is important for us to acknowledge, honor, and reward the outstanding efforts of our board members, whose work contributes to the growth and improvement of communities.”
Nominees can submit their online application at CamdenNational.bank/leadersandluminaries, which also includes eligibility requirements and additional details. The nomination process will remain open until Sept. 13.

Since 2011, Camden National Bank has proudly donated $242,000 to support 63 Maine nonprofits through the Leaders & Luminaries Awards. These awards recognize board members who demonstrate exceptional leadership, implement robust strategic and financial plans, and wholeheartedly champion their organization’s missions.
The winners in 2023 included: Heather Abello of Hearty Roots, Dottie Chalmers Cutter of the Institute for Family-Owned Business, Kathie Marquis-Girard of the Percival P. Baxter Foundation for Maine’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, and Jamie Plourde of the Children’s Discovery Museum of Central Maine. In addition to these $5,000 grants, a $2,000 Spotlight Award was presented to Vera Rand Roberts of New Hope Midcoast.
