Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospital employees recognized for nursing excellence

Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospitals are proud to announce the recipients of their 2024 awards for nursing excellence.

Naomi Trepanier, BSN, RN, CA Dean Hospital’s Exceptional Nurse of the Year.

Naomi’s desire to provide patient-centered, compassionate care is apparent every shift that she is on duty. Naomi is committed to doing the right things for the right reasons, and she embodies the Northern Light values of integrity and respect. With Naomi at the helm as night nursing supervisor, patients are well cared for and the caregivers on duty are happy to be working together as a team. Naomi is always very friendly and happy, and therefore builds a great rapport with her patients. She’s always challenging herself to become the best she can be.

Trepanier

Trevor Guay, CNA, CA Dean Hospital’s Exceptional CNA of the Year.

According to his co-workers, Trevor is respectful, steady, always has a smile on his face, and is fully committed to completing any task. He is mature and purposeful in his approach to caring for his patients despite being a relatively new CNA. Trevor gives his patients exceptional care and is a hard worker. If a call bell or alarm sounds, he is out of his chair in a split second. He is a good team player, and his co-workers look forward to working with him.

Guay

Jessica Thibodeau, BSN, RN, IBCLC, Mayo Hospital’s Exceptional Nurse of the Year.

Jessica is a compassionate caregiver, amazing team player, and outstanding educator. She provides high-quality care, puts safety first, stands by what is best for her patients, and takes initiative to suggest ways to improve the OB department. An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Jessica is a trusted community resource and advocate for breastfeeding. She leads courses to help new and expecting parents with breastfeeding, offers individual breastfeeding counseling, and has sought out grant funding to help her colleagues become lactation counselors. Jessica goes above and beyond for her patients and for the hospital every day.

Thibodeau

Macee Grant, CNA, Mayo Hospital’s Exceptional CNA of the Year.

Macee has all of the characteristics of an excellent CNA. If she sees something that needs to be done, she jumps in to help without being asked. She remains calm in all situations and strives to deliver quality care to every patient, every time. Macee treats patients and co-workers with integrity, respect, and compassion. She is respectful of patient privacy and personal needs and goes above and beyond to ensure that patients have great experiences. Outstanding in every aspect of her job, Macee is a role model for others to follow.

Grant

The nursing excellence awards were presented during National Hospital Week (May 12-18). Nominations for the awards were submitted by employees.

CA Dean Hospital Exceptional Nurse Award nominees included Amy Cookson, LPN; Jeri-Ann Gilbert, RN; Robin O’Connor, RN; and Stephanie Simmons, RN. Jillian Hume, CNA; Mickena Gibbs, CNA; and Dennis James, CNA were nominated for the Exceptional CNA Award.

Mayo Hospital Exceptional Nurse Award nominees included Jillian Champeon, RN; Robert Grove, RN; Darcy Merrill, RN; Brooke Moore, RN; Ashley Vincent, RN; and Darcy Yeo, RN. JoHanna Buck-Purdue, CNA; Kelly Cooper, CNA; and Molly Campbell, CNA were nominated for the Exceptional CNA Award.
