GFWC Miosac Club News

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The GFWC Miosac Club’s first meeting of February was held on the 6th. Twelve members were present.

Our Vice President Wendy Hutchins called the meeting to order as the President Minnie McCormick was unable to preside that evening.

Anne Cress led the Club Collect, Pledge of Allegiance, and American’s Creed.

Diane Leighton read the secretary’s report and Raymond read the treasurer’s report — filed as read.

Roxy McGlauflin, corresponding secretary, read a thank you from the Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Cupboard.

CARD CRAFTING — At the Feb. 6 meeting of the GFWC Miosac Club, from left, Kathy Ryder, hostess Rheba Michaud, and Program Chairperson Vicki Moschella at work on homemade Valentine’s cards for Hilltop Manor and Pleasant Meadows residents.

Hutchins announced she will be unable to chair the annual art show. Lorna Holman is in line to take over.

The club will do the Community Directory in the next few months, this is something that is done every two years. Ducat will chair and helpers will be McGlauflin, Quiet, Ryder, and Betsy Ryan.

Upcoming events will be at the June 22 Maine Whoopie Pie Festival where we will have a table and raffle off gift baskets.

Meeting adjourned.

Moschella brought supplies, as did several others, to make homemade Valentine’s cards for Hilltop Manor and Pleasant Meadows residents. They had fun and made some very nice cards.

Michaud and Holman provided snacks and drinks.
