Old business:

McCormick dressed as a farmer to celebrate Halloween. The costume represented a National Day of Service donation of food to the Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Cupboard from the members consisting of cereal, soup and tuna from each person. Items were to be delivered by McGlauflin.

A report was sent to GFWC Maine reporting how many pounds of food were donated to be combined with a total for our state.

Parsons gave a report of activities at the fall conference. Wendy Hutchins won a Christmas raffle.

New business:

Hutchins will head up a project to benefit Walk for Alzheimer’s. Participants will receive certificates of participation, with more to be announced.

The club will be working with the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis in donating toward “Adopt a Child” for  Christmas. Parsons will chair, bring donations to the next meeting.

Betsey Ryan inquired about continuing food cupboard monthly donations. We will donate a sum yearly. We will start donating items to Pleasant Meadows since there was a need for action. The members voted and it was carried.

The club received more yellow tulip bulbs from the fall conference that will need planting.

Youth arts program/competition will be held in March this year. Hutchins will chair and Lorna Holman will co-chair.

Having no more new business, McCormick adjourned.

Program Chairperson Raymond introduced Mabee. She spoke about the GFWC LEADS program which she experienced (Leadership Education and Development Seminar). The program is intended to identify GFWC members at the grass-roots level who have the potential and the desire to assume leadership positions in GFWC beyond their club.

After the very informative speech, delicious snacks were served.
