Bangor Savings Bank promotes three regional managers

Mainebiz Best Place to Work – Large Employer award-winner Bangor Savings Bank announces the promotion of three regional managers to serve across the Maine market: Laura Blake – VP, Northeast Regional Market manager; Mike Yerxa – VP, senior relationship manager (Bangor and Augusta); and Jake Knight – VP, Greater Bangor Regional Market manager.

Blake, who joined the Bank in 2015 as an assistant branch manager in Bangor, has served as assistant manager and manager of the Bank’s Loan Servicing Team, before most recently rejoining the Consumer Banking team as branch manager of the Hampden branch. In her new role, she will oversee the Bank’s 12 branches in Northern Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Washington, and Aroostook counties. Blake holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine and a master of business administration from Husson University. A resident of Hampden, with her husband and two children, Blake enjoys family time on their boat and in her free time, serves on the town planning committee for Hampden Children’s Day.

Based in the Bank’s headquarters in Bangor, Yerxa has served in roles across the Bank’s departments since joining the team in 2016 — including IT helpdesk technician, commercial credit development associate, credit analyst and assistant VP, commercial banking portfolio manager. In his new role, Yerxa will manage commercial client relationships including new business development in the Bangor and Augusta regions. Based in Brewer, Yerxa enjoys trying new restaurants, visiting breweries, and traveling in his free time. He holds a master of business administration from Husson University.

Knight has been with Bangor Savings Bank since 2019 when he joined as branch manager at the Bank’s Bucksport branch. Since then, he was promoted to the Bank’s Greater Bangor Region where he led the Hampden branch team before assuming leadership of the Brewer branch in 2021. He previously worked in the auto industry in Bangor as a finance and insurance manager before diving into the banking industry. He is a graduate of the University of Maine where he majored in marketing.
