‘The Amazing Life of Sir Harry Oakes’

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society presents “The Amazing Life of Sir Harry Oakes”. The story of a man born in Sangerville, graduated from Foxcroft Academy, discovered two gold mines, became the richest man in Canada, knighted by the King of England, and was murdered in 1943 – the crime was never solved.

The lecture is by Dennis Lyford and will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the Central Hall Commons. All are welcome.
