Greenville amends vendors ordinance

GREENVILLE — At an Aug. 16 special town meeting, Greenville residents passed an amendment to the town’s 2019 vendors ordinance. The amendment was proposed by Greenville’s Planning Board and endorsed by the select board.

The amendment affects special events held in the town. Special events are any organized annual event such as the Greenville Fourth of July celebration and the International Seaplane Fly-In. Special events typically involve multiple vendors and activities under the direction of an event organizer.

The special town meeting approved a schedule of town license fees that will be charged to event organizers, but not to individual vendors participating in the event.

The license fee for special events involving 1-25 vendors is now $50. Fees for events involving 26-50 and 51-plus vendors are $100 and $150 respectively.

In addition, vendors participating in a special event are required to display a copy of the special event organizer’s license on site.

Organizers of special events may obtain licenses from Code Enforcement Officer Ron Sarol.
