Medford to dedicate Veterans Memorial Park

MEDFORD — The town of Medford invites the community to a dedication ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 26 to mark the completion of renovations of Veterans Memorial Park.

Located at Medford Center, the land for Veterans Memorial Park was donated to the town by Clyde Hichborn in 1997. The original honor roll for Medford veterans was a wooden sign board which was recently taken down due to its aging condition. The Medford Memorial Park Committee then began planning a new honor roll and general renovations to the grounds of the park. Site work began in the fall of 2022 and has continued on through the late spring and summer of this year. Spearheaded by the Memorial Park Committee and Selectperson Kent Black, volunteers from the town pitched in over several weekends to complete the ambitious landscaping and construction project. Several local businesses also donated materials.

A brief dedication ceremony is planned for 10 a.m., followed by light refreshments. All veterans and members of the community are welcome to attend.
