Penquis’ Conlogue throws the javelin at New England championship
BANGOR — Penquis Valley High School senior Abigail Conlogue joined some of the other top outdoor track and field athletes from six states at the 76th annual New England Interscholastic Championship, held for the first time at Cameron Stadium on Saturday, June 10.
Conlogue threw the javelin and she had a top distance of 96 feet, 7 inches. Conlogue placed 20th among 22 entrants in the event — another 13 girls qualified but did not compete in Bangor.
Class A Marshwood High School of South Berwick senior Shelby Anderson had the top javelin throw at the Cameron Stadium complex at 130-03.
A week prior Conlogue came in second at the Class C championship in Augusta with her throw measuring 111-07.
