FA’s Jankunas finishes third in 55-meter hurdles

ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy boys indoor track and field team scored 11 points to finish eighth among a field of eight teams at a  Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine on Saturday, Feb. 4.

Pony senior Kyle Jankunas finished third in the 55-meter hurdle finals with his time of 8.74 seconds.

Foxcroft’s 4×200 relay team came in fourth as Jankunas, sophomore Khang Nguyen, junior Zachary Peirce, and senior Eion Mccloskey combined for a time of 1:49.87.

Mccloskey added a sixth-place performance in the 200 at 25.87 seconds.

The Ponies had three other top 10 performances.

Peirce finished seventh in the long jump at a distance of 15 feet, 11.75 inches and Mccloskey was seventh in the 55-meter prelims at 7.29 seconds. Sophomore Runner Jarrett came in ninth in the mile at 5:25.73.
