Harpist in concert at Central Hall Commons

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Maine Highlands Council for the Arts is pleased to present local harpist Isleen Halvorsen in concert at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Central Hall Commons. Halvorsen will offer a program of classical harp repertoire, Celtic favorites and a few quintessential tunes on the concert and folk harp.

Halvorsen has studied harp and piano since childhood. In addition to her work as a chamber musician, Halvorsen has performed with the Nassau Symphony Pops, Bangor Symphony Orchestra, and with various touring musicals in Europe. As a solo performer, Halvorsen has presented educational programs for children and performed concerts for seniors. She has played for both private and corporate functions from the Hamptons to Acadia National Park.

Halvorsen has been involved in several church communities for many years as pianist, singer and assistant for a youth choir.
