Second Cycl-a-thon raises $32,000 for Community Fitness

GUILFORD — Friends of Community Fitness had another successful year at the second annual Cycl-a-thon! Nearly 100 participants gathered in Guilford on Saturday, Oct. 15 to walk, run, or bike a 2-mile loop through town. Collectively the group completed 256 loops earning over $6,000 in pledges. Friends and families enjoyed the day together outdoors with a bounce house, exploring the Joy Truck, great food for lunch, and teaming up to complete the loops.

The event raised a total of over $32,000 for the non-profit community center. These funds will be used for roof and boiler repairs this year. The funds earned last year allowed Community Fitness to purchase several new pieces of equipment and reupholster all equipment that needed repair. Community Fitness has grown over 40 percent in the last year to over 700 members.
