THROWING SKILL – Amanda Ober of Dover-Foxcroft earned top honors in the 18-35 age division of the ladies skillet throw on Saturday morning as part of the 135th annual Piscataquis Valley Fair. Ober had a distance of 45 feet, 6 inches. She later came in second among a throw off for the three division winners.

PULLING THEIR OWN WEIGHT – The Pingree family entrant, including horses Calvin and Bud, finished in third place in the 3,200 class of the horse pull at the Piscataquis Valley Fair in Dover-Foxcroft on Saturday. The team attained a distance of 331 feet.
